I have been playing music as a travelling disc jockey since 1999, and before that played on and off in Bowling Green clubs since 1992. As a student of the traveling disc jockey business under the mentoring of James Hummell of Rineyville (Elizabethtown), Kentucky, I quickly excelled and became a highly requested disc jockey in Hardin and the surrounding counties.
In 2001, I moved to Bowling Green from Elizabethtown, and after a year-long hiatus, started Lewis DJ Service with my late wife, Danissa. From then until 2012, I was very busy working weddings, dances, parties, etc. almost every weekend. In early 2012, my wife and son became ill...both from cancer, and I needed to take time for my family. In 2013, my wife passed and my break from DJing continued in order to care for my son and myself.
I am successful in this business for many reasons, but mostly because I am a caring person who really wants to make a difference in people's special events. Yes, I do get paid...but I really enjoy doing this.
A couple of things not mentioned elsewhere on this website:
- Ther bride and groom are the center of attention at my wedding reception performances and NOT Lewis DJ Service. I do NOT make a spectacle of myself nor am I tacky, cheesy or (use your favorite adjective here).
- I do not have the need to force grandma or shy guests out onto the dance floor. People have unique ways of enjoying themselves and that is something Lewis DJ Services recognizes.
- I play the edited versions of today's most popular songs. I do not believe that the language of many of the most recent songs is appropriate for families, and since most of my events are family events, I have made the conscious decision to play only edited music.
- I love to offer discounts to churches and schools. If you have one of these types of functions, or anything similar, it can't hurt to ask for a discount.
I would love to have your business, so please give me a call. I willl be glad to give you names and numbers of many people ready to verify the quality of my work.
Thank you!
